What we collect

When you join the Society: your first and last name, email, phone number, Instagram handle (optional), how you heard about us, dietary needs, and why you'd like to join.

When you book a seat: your name, email, phone number and any dietary needs or allergies you share. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

When you email us: your message and contact details.

How we use it

We use your information only to run our evenings: to confirm bookings, send you the address and details, plan menus around dietary needs, reply to your questions, and, if you've joined the Society, send you news about upcoming suppers and events.

Dietary and allergy information is used only to prepare your meal safely. It is shared only with the people cooking or hosting that evening, and only as far as needed.

We never sell or rent your information.

Services we use

We rely on a few trusted providers: Mailchimp (our mailing list), Stripe (payments), Netlify (website hosting) and Google (email and website fonts). These providers may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. Each has its own privacy policy.

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The booking and signup pages run by Stripe and Mailchimp may use their own cookies.

Emails and consent

We only send newsletters and event announcements to people who have asked to join. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time. Booking confirmations and event details are sent to guests as part of their reservation.

Photos at our events

We sometimes take photos and short videos at our evenings and may share them on our website and social media. If you'd rather not appear, tell us on arrival or by email and we'll make sure you aren't featured. If you spot yourself in something we've posted and want it removed, just ask.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for our accounts and tax obligations, and mailing-list details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Dietary notes for a specific evening are deleted once they are no longer needed.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Refunds

Seats are non-refundable once booked. If you can't attend, let us know before the evening and we'll move your seat to another supper. No-shows can't be moved. If we cancel or reschedule, you'll receive a full refund or a seat on the new date.
